We have come to the end of Week 1 which centred around exploring Google Chrome as a browser. So I have some questions to ask you:
- Did you manage to download and install Chrome?
- Did you experiment with any extensions or applications?
- Did you perhaps create any additional browsers?
- Did you like using Chrome?
- Can you think of any ways this browser could be useful to students and teachers alike?
- Did you not have time to get around to any of that?
Please write a reflective comment in the comment box below - would love to know that you are still out there!!!
I am looking forward to Week 2 and its offerings around Google +. I think I all have your gmail addresses so that I can add you to a Google + circle so that you can explore the use of this for professional development.
'See you' on Monday!
I have downloaded chrome and created a gmail account. I would love to use it in classroom, but our learners do not all have e-mail accounts yet.I really battle to change the mindset of my colleages about using IT or just to explore new technological ideas.

Google Chrome is really user friendly, its the same feel as my Tablet navigation an works well with Windows 8. The ICT committee will be training our teachers on Google Chrome very soon. Nicolene
ReplyDeleteGoogle Chrome is wonderful to use and has enormous potential for the classroom situation! I have downloaded it and have added a number of applications and extensions, all of which I need to play around with. I have also created multiple browsers and added a theme. I intend to get our teachers to learn the functionality of this browser and to integrate it within their respective curricula.
ReplyDeleteI had an opportunity to download Google Chrome into my PC. This was a nice experience. I have realised that Google Chrome is more reliable and faster that IE so far. I have played aroud with some extensions. This is something I will have to share with my teachers.
ReplyDeleteI still have to explore more of Google Chrome as there is a lot that one can use, especially in the teaching and learning situations.
I will have a fully fledged workshop in which I will just train teachers about the educational value of Google Chrome.

Saul
It was easy to install and download chrome. I went through a number of extensions, noting those that can be effectively used by our schools to enhance teaching and learning.I will also encourage my colleagues in our meeting tomorrow, to visit the Schoolnet blog to find more information.I think the offline chrome and extensions will be useful to students and teachers without internet connection. ReplyDeleteGoogle Chrome is fabulous. The apps and extensions makes use a tablet in a classroom incredibly effective and it's certainly something we'll be encouraging our teachers to use. Thanks Fiona
